A Cold Air Intake System relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver the coolest air inlet temperatures possible. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horsepower and torque. But that's only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and this tuning allows us to deliver the maximum power gains throughout the entire RPM range.

Features include:

  • K&N Style Air Filter

  • Heat Shields

No instructions but a straight foward setup! Made my rig sound better and breathe better and all for 100$ shipped not a bad deal if you ask me

Very nice!

The difference in sound this makes is pretty great. Induction noise in the cabin is much better and the exhaust note sounds a bit throatier. The install was easy (no instructions included) and pretty straightforward. The black powdercoating is nice and the filter is huge, but the couplers and clamps feel very cheap. Not bad at all for the price.

Good CAI

I think this is a good CAI for the money, it seems to work better than the stock air-box, and it does give the exhaust more of a solid sound. On the other hand though the metal box could fit better, it should extend a little bit past the radiator so it doesn’t pull the heat off of it and into your engine, i will be modifying the heat shield, but to sum it all up it’s a good unit for the cash.

Good for the money

Fitment: I installed mine on a 2004 Silverado 5.3 and fitment was fine. Being a 2004 it cleared the mechanical fan shroud fine. All hose clamps should be installed lose until everything is aligned perfect then tighten. Also the OEM black rubber flange thingy majigger that connects MAF to air box is reused on the CAI. The air filter shroud and weather striping is also nice.

Performance: I have not done a WOT run with my truck but I can say that the immediate notices were the increased engine sound note and it also smoothed out the engine tip in. Power? Maybe a few ponies but for me the enhanced smoothness was worth it!

I would buy this CAI again and put the extra money saved over others like S&B or K&N towards headers or a cam.

Good product for the price. Would buy again.

Fit and finish was much better than expected for a budget intake system. The weather striping to seal the intake from the engine bay leaves much to be desired but a trip to the parts store will fix that. Also no directions. Not that they are really needed.
